Momenteel loopt er een vacature voor een voltijds ZAP-mandaat in de graad van docent tenure track in het vakgebied Duurzaamheidstransities en Wetenschap & Technologie studies (STS).
Deze vacature betreft een ambt als ZAP (Tenure Track) met hoofdzakelijk onderzoeksopdracht binnen de faculteit Politieke en Sociale Wetenschappen aan de Universiteit Gent (België). De kandidaat zal actief zijn binnen de onderzoeksgroep CDO (Centrum voor Duurzame Ontwikkeling). Kandidaten moeten getuigen van een wetenschappelijke excellentie op basis van criteria van wetenschappelijke kwaliteit, wat onder meer blijkt uit publicaties in tijdschriften en boeken met internationale zichtbaarheid en uit het vooropgestelde wetenschappelijk onderzoek in het onderzoeksplan.
Het opnemen van dit ambt, dat wordt gefinancierd vanuit het Bijzonder Onderzoeksfonds, geeft aanleiding tot een aanstelling in een tijdelijk dienstverband in een tenure track stelsel voor een duur van 5 jaar en impliceert het privilege om zich gedurende deze periode nagenoeg exclusief toe te leggen op onderzoeksactiviteiten, met een beperkte onderwijsopdracht van maximum 8 studiepunten per semester, gemiddeld over 3 jaar.
Academisch onderwijs - U doceert als verantwoordelijk lesgever en medelesgever binnen verschillende opleidingsonderdelen in het domein van “Duurzaamheidstransities en Wetenschap & Technologie Studies”. De onderwijstaal is overwegend Nederlands. U wordt ook verondersteld om bachelor- en masterproeven te begeleiden en op te treden als academisch adviseur voor doctoraatsstudenten.
Wetenschappelijk onderzoek - U bouwt onderzoek uit in het domein van “Duurzaamheidstransities en Wetenschap & Technologie Studies”. U versterkt de desbetreffende onderzoekslijnen van het CDO en u draagt bij tot het aantrekken van onderzoeksfondsen.
Wetenschappelijke dienstverlening - U werkt mee aan de interne en externe dienstverlening van de faculteit Politieke en Sociale Wetenschappen.

A vacancy is currently open for a full-time professor (Tenure Track) in the field of Sustainability transitions and Science & Technology Studies (STS).
This vacancy concerns a position as member of the tenured academic staff with a focus on research within the faculty of Political and Social Sciences at Ghent University (Belgium). The candidate will be embedded in the research group CDO (Centrum voor Duurzame Ontwikkeling – Centre for Sustainable Development). Candidates should demonstrate scientific excellence based on criteria of scientific quality, as reflected, among other things, in publications in journals and books with international visibility and in the proposed scientific research in the research plan.
Taking up this position, which is funded by the Special Research Fund, leads to an appointment in a tenure track system for a duration of 5 years and implies the privilege of devoting oneself almost exclusively to research activities during this period, with a teaching load limited to no more than 8 ECTS credits per semester on average over a period of 3 years.
Academic education - You teach as a lecturer-in-charge and co-lecturer within various course units in the domain of "Sustainability Transitions and Science & Technology Studies (STS)". The language of instruction is predominantly Dutch. You are also expected to supervise bachelor papers and master theses and to act as an academic supervisor of PhD students.
Academic Research - You conduct research in the discipline of “Sustainability Transitions and Science & Technology Studies (STS)”. You reinforce the relevant research lines of the CDO and you contribute to attracting research funding.
Academic services - You take part in the internal and external service provision of the faculty of Political and Social Science (and especially of CDO).
